Ask a 1,000,000 people this question and 999,999 of them will tell you, yes, cake makes you fat. Of course, it does, everyone knows that right??
Well, the 1 person happy to disagree with them all is Drew Baird. This idiot says no, cake doesn’t make you fat. The ONLY thing that will make an individual gain weight is being in a sustained calorie surplus over an extended period of time (excluding some medical conditions & medications). It’s not cake that makes a person gain weight, it’s the fact that cake is part of their overall diet, which is in a calorie surplus so, over 6 months, a year, 3 years, 10 years, this individual gains weight.
Cake doesn’t make you fat. Fast food doesn’t make you fat. Not working out doesn’t make you fat. Being in a sustained calorie surplus over an extended period of time will.
You can eat cake and not gain weight, or even lose weight, if, even after eating cake, you stay in a sustained calorie deficit. IT’S THAT BLOODY SIMPLE. So yes, Drew Baird is an angel sent from the heavens.
