I Lived Like A Victoria’s Secret Angel For A Day

Flicking through the channels on the TV on the weekend and Victoria’s Secret underwear show was on. I got about 10 seconds into it before I switched the channel. I don’t know if it was because I don’t wear lacy underwear, I don’t care about looking at girls in their underwear (I’m a respectfully happy husband), or because I think crap like this sends an overall negative message about body image to super impressionable people.

Anyway, I’ve always heard about how fit these ‘angels’ (not my term) are so I thought I’d google what they do in order to get ready for a show and follow it for a day, here’s my experience..

7AM - Wake n’ shake

I’m used to getting up at 4:15AM to go to, um, my job so I actually laid in bed for 2 hours playing snake on my phone. Once the alarm went off I headed down to the kitchen to make breakfast - A kale, spinach, orange & pear shake that tasted like… Arse, really.

9AM - Gym Time

Bella Hadid trains for 3 hours a day to get ready for the show so for three hours I did a mixture of pilates, boxing, and abs. Thank the lord I had the disgusting shake for breakfast to properly fuel me for this insanely over the top workout. By the end of it I felt sick and had a little throw-up, not sure if this was the end goal or not, though?

12:30PM - Lunch

For lunch, I had 30g of chicken breast (about one bloody bite), and more kale (seriously tastes like shit). I read that if you get hungry you can dip some cotton balls in orange juice to make you feel full, WTF? Anyway, I tried and it immediately made me hurl, vomit #2 for the day and it’s only just past noon.

3PM - Beauty Routine (for 90 mins, seriously - WTF)

Holy shit, I was so lost here. I started off with some Embryolisse Moisturizer as it penetrates deeper into your skin, you apply it thick like a mask apparently. Next is the lip balm, pawpaw if they are particularly dry from all the chundering (can also use on elbows FTW). I got MAC for the makeup (no idea why), maybe it works in well with the beard? Then I finished off with some boy brow. It’s times like this I thank the lord I was born male.

6PM - Dinner

Today I’m an angel so there’s no way in hell I’m cooking so I had Estelle cook up an asparagus, tomato, onion, and capsicum scramble. Looking down at my plate I was seriously so miserable, I miss food so much I could cry but I don’t want to ruin my makeup so I gotta stay strong.

9PM - Bed

Before I jump into bed I need to exfoliate for some god knows the reason. I also used some bioderma crealine makeup remover, Glossier face wash and SKINny chemical free peel in a jar. TBH, I just wanted to get this day over with because I was so bloody starving everytime Estelle said something to me I’d respond with “unless you have a f**king cheeseburger for me I don’t care”.

Safe to say that you won’t find me on a catwalk anytime soon.
