Seriously, next time you’re at the supermarket or even at the petrol station, look at the pricing of things. If you ever wonder why, we as a society, have ever increasing overweight and obesity rates, just look at our food system.

 

Everywhere you bloody look we are surrounded by highly palatable, calorie dense food. This food is made in factories but, we don’t care because it tastes amazing. It lights up the pleasure center of our brains like Griswold's house at Christmas time.

The issue most people find themselves in is that they truly believe they aren’t eating that many calories because the total volume of the food they are eating doesn’t seem like much. If you actually track all of the calories you eat on a daily basis, I think most people would be blown away by how many calories extra they are eating without even knowing it.

 

There’s no secret that money rules the world. There’s also no point fighting it as we all have careers to earn money to survive.

 

So, if your goal is to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle, understand that the majority of your diet needs to go against our culture and this is incredibly hard to stick to because your friends, family, workplace are most likely not going to be eating like you have to.

 

A healthy you is created by healthy eating, and healthy eating starts by making healthy decisions.
